All I can say is wow… this lovely little cafe appeared in my peripheral vision as I headed into town for another one of those days (Thanks to the 2010 Guide). I thought, to hell with it, I am pulling over for a feed and a good coffee. I was not dissapointed! The vibe of the place was peacful, busy but happy. The fire roared away and people tapped away on PC’s or were immersed in their news of the day. The staff looked attentive and very interested in serving their guests. The coffee, took a moment to come out but it was worth the wait. My Long Macc had a strong and inviting aroma, and was followed up with a thick, smooth crema. It was right up there with out a doubt. I will be back, and for now one major bean!

“Man does not live by bread alone,” or does he?
Well he possibly could if all the bread was as fabulous as it was here@ DENCH. Out with a slow-food mate, he was trying to refine the palate of the CaFFiend to look beyond the cup and see just how incredible some fine bread could be; this apparently was the perfect spot to introduce me to the wonders and excitement of sourdough!
A bustling little baker/café with table service, friendly staff who were both warm and welcoming, a devilishly delightful menu as well as the serious opportunity to complete a delectable degustation of fine food, possibly followed up with some amazing coffee.
Our feast was divine, the bread amazing, truly mind blowing, the foodie was right, man can live on bread alone especially if it is THIS good…..
My espresso arrived in style and flair, with a glass of water. Such a small thing, but something that really shows you care. Serving some of Melbourne’s finest SUPER BRAZIL, the nectar in the cup did not disappoint, viscous, thick and sweet, it was really well made using quality product and precision skill. My café latte chaser was also presented perfectly, silken smooth milk, combined with well extracted and fresh espresso to create the perfect beverage, capable of satisfying the most discerning of palates.
The CaFFiend was stoked, a marvelous lunch with the revelation that there’s so much more to good bread than meets the eye, followed by a strong ONE bean performance on the coffee was the perfect way to slow down and unwind on this caffeine fuelled highway called life!
Till next time……………………..Keep on Caffeining on!!!
